What-If Scenario Analysis

Adjust 14 business drivers and instantly see how changes ripple through your financials. Save, compare, and export scenarios.

How It Works

  1. Baseline — the platform calculates a baseline from your latest trial balance data.
  2. Adjust drivers — use sliders or type values to change one or more business drivers.
  3. Recalculate — click Calculate to see updated forecasts, KPIs, and delta comparisons.
  4. Review — a side-by-side comparison shows baseline vs. scenario with magnitude and percentage changes.

Business Drivers

Drivers are loaded dynamically from the configuration file. Each driver has the following properties:

PropertyDetails
Default value0.0 (no change from baseline)
Minimum-50
Maximum+50
UnitDepends on type: %, Days, or лв. (currency)
Driver Types

The system auto-detects each driver's type from its name:

Typical Driver Examples
  • Service Utilization (%) — adjusts the revenue impact of service capacity usage
  • Revenue Growth (%) — simulates top-line changes
  • Personnel Cost Change (%) — models headcount or salary adjustments
  • Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) — adjusts how quickly receivables are collected
  • Days Payable Outstanding (DPO) — adjusts how quickly payables are settled
  • CAPEX — models capital expenditure changes in currency units

The exact driver list depends on your organisation's configuration profile.

Actions

Sends all current driver values to the server. Returns updated metrics and a baseline-vs-scenario comparison table.

Save Scenario

Saves the current drivers and results. Auto-named Scenario YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM or enter a custom name.

AI Advisor

Sends the scenario, baseline, deltas, and percentage changes to the AI engine for strategic recommendations.

Export to PDF

Generates a PDF report with driver values, baseline-vs-scenario comparison, and key metrics.

Saved Scenarios

Previously saved scenarios appear in a list. Click any scenario to restore its driver values and recalculate. Each scenario stores:

  • Name — auto-generated or custom
  • Driver values — the full set of driver adjustments
  • Results — the computed financial metrics and comparison data

Tips
  • What-If draws data from trial balance, not transactions. Make sure you have TB data uploaded.
  • Start by adjusting one driver at a time to understand its individual impact.
  • Use the AI Advisor after setting up a complex multi-driver scenario — it explains trade-offs and risks.
  • Save scenarios before and after major business decisions to compare outcomes over time.
  • The Reset button returns all sliders to 0 (baseline).
